Directions
From Belfast
Clover House and Carrickfergus are North of Belfast. Follow signs for the M2 (North) and then the M5. This is a five lane carriageway from the M2 to the M5 so try to stay in the right hand lane. Once you are on the M5 the signs for Carrickfergus are very clear. The motorway will change to a short dual Carriageway and then to a main road. Follow these past the University of Ulster on the left hand side (Belfast Lough will always be on your right). Go past the Clarion Hotel on your left then Fortfields garage. Clover House is a few hundred yards along on the left, just past the school sign. It is a pink house and fairly easily seen. If you reach the Norman Castle, you have gone too far, go around the roundabout and come back.
Journey time: approx twenty minutes but allow for delays at peak traffic times.
From Dublin
Follow signs for Belfast and The North. When nearing Belfast look out for signs for the Westlink (A12) and the M2. Then follow the directions as above.
Journey time: approx two hours to Belfast and twenty minutes from Belfast to Clover House.
From Larne
Follow signs for Carrickfergus (A2), travelling through Glynn, Magheramorne and Whitehead. (The main road from Larne (A8) is into Belfast). As you come into Carrickfergus Belfast Lough will be on your left. Pass the Norman castle go straight through the roundabout. McDoonalds will be on your left and Xtra-Vision will be on your right. Clover House is just past the second set of traffic lights on the right.
By Public Transport
Carrickfergus boasts excellent train and bus links into Belfast with trains running from the beautiful Carrickfergus station every hour or every half hour at peak periods. The journey takes only twenty minutes and is £3.60 for a day return. When coming out of the station, walk towards the main road, turn right and continue to the roundabout. Turn right along the roundabout, passing Xtra-Vision on your right and McDonalds on your left. Clover House is just beyond the second set of traffic lights. There is a bus stop immediately outside Clover House and the bus journey should take forty-five minutes.
